Ant more surprised by Fox's NBA All-Star snub than his own originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
The NBA All-Star reserves were announced Thursday, and neither Kings star De'Aaron Fox nor Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards made the cut.
While there's a case to be made for both players as All-Stars, Edwards couldn't believe Fox wasn't named to the roster.
"I didn't even watch it. I knew I wasn't going to get in," Edwards told reporters Friday. "I was more surprised De'Aaron Fox didn't get in."
Fox's teammate Domantas Sabonis rightfully earned his third All-Star nod Thursday, but many NBA fans agreed that Fox was deserving of his first All-Star appearance as well.
The No. 5 overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft is playing the best basketball of his career, averaging 24.3 points and 6.1 assists per game with a career-high 50.6 shooting percentage from the field.
And in clutch time, Fox leads the league in total points (119), field goals made (48), field goals attempted (80) and field goal percentage (60.0).

Edwards has played every game for the Timberwolves so far this season, and the 21-year-old is a rising star on the court with an average of 24.9 points, 6.1 rebounds and 4.6 assists in 54 contests.
It's clear the Minnesota guard also was worthy of playing in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game, but his comments about Fox prove it's not just Sacramento who believes Fox was robbed.
