Baton Rouge man named as suspect in Jan. 20 shooting death of Alexandria man

A Baton Rouge man has been identified as a suspect in the death of an Alexandria man last month, and police are asking for the public's help to find him.

The Alexandria Police Department named Desmond Lamonte Clowers, 45, as the suspect in the Jan. 20 shooting death of 34-year-old Alfred Jerome King.

Officers had gone to the 12th and Magnolia streets area around 1:22 a.m. after a call about someone being shot. They found King on the ground in front of some apartments in the 500 block of Magnolia Street.

He later died at a hospital. An investigation is continuing.
