Testimony will continue Thursday morning in the case against two men accused of carrying out a shooting at a home in Colerain Township nearly five years ago.

Roshawn Bishop, who is accused of plotting the shooting prosecutors describe as an attempted murder-for-hire, is expected to testify against Michael Sanon and James Echols, Hamilton County Assistant Prosecutor Seth Tieger said in court Wednesday.

The shooting at Capstan Drive on July 8, 2017, killed a woman and injured eight others, including three children.

On Tuesday, jurors heard testimony from Cheyanne Willis, 26, who prosecutors say was the target of the shooting. Willis was shot in the left thigh.

Willis testified that she loaned Roshawn Bishop, who she met through her job and later had an affair with, $10,000 with the expectation he would pay the money back within 30 days.

Prosecutors say Bishop was a drug dealer who wanted the money for his illicit drug business.

As Willis began pressuring Bishop to pay back the money, he made plans for Echols and Sanon to kill her, prosecutors said.

During opening statements last week, Hamilton County Assistant Prosecutor Allison Oswall said Bishop told investigators he "took money out of his pocket" to pay the two. Bishop is also facing murder charges.

Sanon, 24, and Echols, 26, both Columbus residents, face numerous counts in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court including aggravated murder.

Bishop's wife, Deborah, testified on Wednesday that she witnessed Sanon and Echols burning their clothes in a grill at her home on the night of the shooting.

Also charged in the case is Vandell Slade, 33, of Columbus. Slade is accused of connecting Echols and Sanon with Roshawn Bishop, according to court documents.

The trial will continue Thursday at 9:30 a.m. before Judge Robert Goering.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
