May 18-A juvenile boy has been charged as an adult after allegedly stabbing another juvenile at a fast-food restaurant in Havre de Grace on Monday, the city's police department said.
Havre de Grace police were dispatched to the McDonald's in the 800 block of Pulaski Highway shortly before 4 p.m. for a reported fight with a stabbing. Inside the restaurant, officers found a boy with stab-related lacerations, according to a news release.
Meanwhile, several juveniles were seen leaving the scene. One of those individuals matched the description of the alleged attacker provided by several eyewitnesses, according to the release.
Officers located the suspect a short distance from the restaurant and attempted to detain him. The boy ran off but was caught after a short foot chase.
The victim was transported to a hospital to receive treatment for his wounds. He is in stable condition, according to the news release.
The suspect in the stabbing has been charged as an adult with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, carrying a dangerous weapon with intent to cause injury, reckless endangerment and resisting arrest, according to the release.
Representatives at the McDonald's where the incident occurred declined to comment.
The motive for the stabbing is unclear and the incident is under investigation. Witnesses should contact Det./Sgt. Harmel at 410-939-2121.
