A 20-year-old man has voluntarily turned himself in to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office following a fatal shooting at Ackerman Park on Dec. 29.
Just before 11:00 p.m., deputies responded to reports of gunshots at the park. According to witnesses, a crowd of roughly 50 people was gathered in the park when several guns shots were fired from the backseat of a vehicle in the parking lot.
One of the bullets hit a bystander in the back. People drove him away from the scene, meeting paramedics in another parking lot nearby where he was pronounced dead.

Detectives determined the suspect's vehicle to be a gold Hyundai occupied by Kalvion Turner, 20, and Nyquan Priester, 20, in the backseat.
After turning himself in, Turner was arrested and now faces a single count of principal to second-degree murder with a firearm.
The Sheriff's Office is continuing to search for Priester. He is wanted on second-degree murder and discharging a firearm from a vehicle.
