A North Augusta man was arrested Monday after an investigation by the Office of the Attorney General of South Carolina found he was distributing child pornography.
Michael Joseph Carter, 20, of North Augusta, was arrested Monday and charged with six counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for distributing child pornography. He could face up to 10 years in prison on each count.

Investigators received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children which led them to Carter, according to a release from the Attorney General's Office.
Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigators and the North Augusta Department of Public Safety made the arrest. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.
