Austin police investigation 17th homocide of the year
The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide that happened Saturday morning near Dean Avenue in North Austin.
Officer Alexandra Parker said that about 7:03 a.m. Saturday, 911 operators received multiple calls reporting gun shots and seeing someone injured in the 300 block of Dean Avenue.
Officers arrived on the scene at 7:11 a.m. and found a man in his 30s with signs of trauma. Officers performed live saving measures until EMS arrived, Parker said. The male was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:24 a.m.
Police said this is an isolated incident. It's the city's 17th homicide this year.
