Update: Andre George was found guilty in this case. He was sentenced to 55 years, with 50 of the years executed in the Indiana Department of Corrections.
Indianapolis police have arrested a suspect in a fatal shooting of Ryan Thomas earlier this week at a Marathon gas station on the northwest side.
Detectives with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department arrested 22-year-old Andre George in the case. Formal charges have not yet been filed.
On Tuesday, officers were called to the intersection of West 71st Street and Georgetown Road on a report of a person shot around 7:30 p.m. Police said officers found Thomas, 31, with gunshot wounds and administered first aid until medics arrived and took him to the hospital.
Thomas later died. The Marion County Coroner's Office later said he died from a gunshot wound and ruled the death a homicide.
Detectives determined the incident started outside a gas station at the intersection.
The Marion County Prosecutor's Office will determine a final charging decision.
