Detectives with the Olympia Police Department have opened a homicide investigation into the death of a man who was found near the Olympia Auto Mall late Thursday afternoon, Jan. 26.
Olympia Police Lt. Paul Lower said the man, who is thought to be in his mid-30s, was shot in the head. Coroner Gary Warnock said Friday the man's identity has not yet been confirmed.
Police were called to the scene at around 5 p.m. after a passerby reported seeing a man's body in a cul-de-sac in the 2000 block of Caton Way Southwest. He was confirmed dead when police arrived.
The area was closed off by police Thursday evening.
