The Philadelphia 76ers are in the process of trying to make upgrades around their roster with the Feb. 9 trade deadline right around the corner. They don't have many needs as they are one of the more talented teams in the league, but they could definitely use an upgrade at the backup center position.
With it being deadline season, there will be plenty of names that will pop up who will be on the radar of the Sixers. One name that has recently popped up is Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid who would be a nice addition to the bench unit.
Now, another name has popped up as Yahoo! Sports' Jake Fischer reports that Philadelphia is very much interested in Utah Jazz big man Jarred Vanderbilt:
Vanderbilt is a little undersized at 6-foot-9, but he is very athletic and he has a high motor around the rim. He's averaging 8.3 points and 7.9 rebounds in 24.1 minutes per game with the Jazz. Considering the fact that Utah would probably rather rebuild than compete for a lower playoff spot, maybe the Sixers could get him for cheap before Thursday's deadline.
