Russell Wilson welcomes Sean Payton to the Broncos on Twitter

Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson welcomed new coach Sean Payton to the team on Twitter on Monday.

"Excited to get to work. Fired Up!" Wilson tweeted in a message congratulating Payton on getting the job.

Broncos fans might notice that Wilson could be a little less active on social media and more out of the public spotlight this offseason.

Last year, every move the quarterback made was well-documented on social media, and his media team shared videos from the QB's offseason workouts. This year, Payton seems to be changing things up.

"I kind of use this term, 'A little bit more anonymous donors this season,'" Payton said at his introductory press conference Monday. "Just know that we're working, but with a little bit less visibility on social media and all those other things. We're going to get to work, and ultimately, it's how we do in the fall. We kind of go from there. We have to earn it with our fans."

Payton's message seems to have been received by Wilson. The quarterback's tweet on Monday was Wilson's first tweet about the hire since the Broncos completed the trade on Jan. 31, and the QB has not posted on Instagram since Payton's arrival.

Wilson already appears to be a little less active on social media, and Denver's in-house media team did not post coach-by-coach interview updates during their search this year as they did in 2022.

The Broncos will be a little more under-the-radar in 2023, and that's probably a good thing.
