A St. Cloud man allegedly scratched, punched and kicked a woman before allegedly punching her in the face the next day, according to two Benton County criminal complaints.
Lamont Harold Knox, 35, faces two felony counts of domestic assault.
St. Cloud police responded to an apartment Friday around 11:27 p.m. on a report of a domestic assault. A woman reported Knox scratched, punched and kicked her, according to the complaint.
The woman told police she had been at a bar with Knox that evening and there had been an argument. She stated that Knox kicked in her door and damaged and stole some of her property. She said Knox punched her, according to the complaint. Officers observed marks on her neck and a bruise on her nose. The woman stated they were from an unrelated incident several days before, according to the complaint.
Police confirmed with dispatch the woman's report of Knox breaking into her apartment, stealing items, and assaulting her, according to the complaint. Knox was not at the scene then.
St. Cloud police then responded to an apartment Saturday around 11:02 a.m. following a domestic assault report, according to a separate complaint. The woman reported Knox punched her in the face and had left wearing a gray hoodie and sweatpants.
Officers observed what looked like a fresh bruise below the woman's eye, according to the complaint. The woman told police that she woke up around 10 a.m. to Knox in her apartment. She said he was angry at one point and hit her on the head and left.
Another woman who was present told police she saw Knox hit the woman.
Knox was located and arrested. He was previously convicted of a domestic abuse no contact order violation in Sherburne County in 2020 and of battery in Indiana in 2013.
