A suspect was shot and killed on Friday by Kansas City, Kansas police officers.
The shooting unfolded in the 5200 block of Georgia Avenue.
The Kansas City Police Department was investigating the use of force.
Officer Donna Drake, a spokeswoman with KCPD, said police were called on a report of a drug overdose a couple blocks away. They found a man and a woman unresponsive at a residence. Another man fled the residence on a bike. Police caught up to him and during the encounter with the man, who was armed, an officer shot and killed him, Drake said.
No police officers were injured, the department said in a statement on Twitter.
