As college football's award season continued, a trio of Penn State players was named to the Walter Camp All-American team on Thursday night by the Walter Camp Football Foundation, continuing to add to Penn State's list of all-time all-American players in program history.
Offensive lineman Olu Fashanu, cornerback Kalen King, and cornerback Joey Porter Jr. were all named to the Walter Camp All-American second-team list for the 2022 season. The three are the first Penn State players to be recognized on a postseason All-American list this season. In total, Penn State now has 184 all-time All-American selections by an NCAA-recognized media outlet.
Fashanu was a rising draft prospect with his solid blocking this season, although he was banged up at the end of the year and his status for the Rose Bowl is still in question.
Porter Jr. came into the season highly regarded as Penn State's top NFL draft prospect after he decided to return for another season in Happy Valley. Porter will not play in the Rose Bowl after announcing he was opting out for the bowl season to focus on his NFL future.
King took another big stride in his sophomore season as he stepped into a larger role in the defense this fall, and he showed why Penn State was so high on him coming out of his recruiting cycle.
